Lighthouse Edit

Image
For this project, we were given a photo of a lighthouse or something of the sorts to edit and I decided to crop it into a thin shape as well as add a wind filter and attempt to add the guise of a sunset. original-

Old Photo Restoration

Image
For this project, we were told to restore old family photos. Due to the photos that I got a hold of not actually being that beat up, there wasn't much that I had to do to 'restore' them besides making them black and white as opposed to yellowed, removing stains and spots, and upping the brightness/contrast to make them more pronounced.  (My favorite!) My Grandpa from my mother's side (middle) and his buddies. My grandma on my mother's side on her family farm when she was little.

The importance of art

"Tax dollars should not be wasted on art, music or theater classes in high school. Public high schools should be about training young people to enter the workforce. Period." I do not agree with this at all. Art, music, and theatre classes and education are important due to the fact that they lead people to careers such as digital design, acting, music, etc. without these careers we would not have things like music, tv/movies/theatre, advertising, video games, etc. All things which the world would be awfully dull without, don't you think?

Self Reflection

Image
For this project, we were told to portray our hopes for ourselves in the future through a 'mirror photo'. Although the photo is in my opinion slightly bland and lacking in depth/variation, I believe that it is befitting of the prompt. I decided that I wanted to portray my hope for confidence in my future self.  Instead of changing much looks-wise when it comes to my clothing, hair, etc I chose to keep it relatively the same to bring across the point that I do not hope to change much about myself, only to refine and become more confident in what I have now.
